What’s on your shopping list this Christmas season?  perhaps toys and video games? For impoverished people in Haiti, Christmas isn’t about getting the latest high-tech gadget to add to their collection. Instead, they long to receive help that will improve their quality of life.   This year through tCHF’s Christmas fund; you can give hope and help send a child or youth to school next semester.  You can also help with our library program by donating funds for new shelves and ebooks.   We thank you for your partnership as we continue our efforts together this holiday season.

Have you ever thought about becoming a tCHF partner?  Now is the time to get involved and “be a Champion”.   When you make a contribution toward programs supported by tCHF, you’re helping a new generation of children and youths.

We are truly excited about the opportunity to work with the local library and to provide books for the community and children.  We remain thankful to our Canadian donors who worked hard and gave selflessly to make the recent shipment of books a successful project. tCHF staff and students in Haiti are assisting with the effort to stock the shelves and help clean up the library.  Hundreths of students in the community will use the library.

We are now looking for donations of PCs and eBooks. We are pleased to announce that the first phase of the tCHF Library Program is completed.  The first batch of the books donated to the library in Les Cayes has been delivered.  The remaining shipment is expected to arrive in Les Cayes from the Capital city (Port-au-Prince) in the next day.  tCHF takes this opportunity once again to thank the team of volunteers and schools in Canada that have worked hard to make this project a reality for this community in Haiti.  Without this team in Canada our idea would not have been realized.   Also, tCHF thanks Mme Thybulle; Head of the National Library of Haiti for partnering with us on this project.  A shared vision with the National Library makes such an effort possible, we are looking forward to working with the local librarians in Les Cayes.  Our sincere gratitude as well to CODE for the great support with the shipment to Port-au-Prince.  This project is a key initiative for tCHF’s continuing objective for enrichment through education.  We are not stopping, this is only the beginning, and our phase 2 has already begun which will include e.books in the library as well. Stay tuned!

Presently, we are looking for donors who can donate funds for new shelves needed for the books.  We plan to introduce metal shelving.  These can be built locally and will put people to work.   Your valued donations toward this effort can be done securely via our website.  Please partner with us to make a difference in the lives of a whole community… “a library is a great tool to help improve literacy and for education! “
