At the heart of tCHF’s continuing mission to the children of Haiti lies the conviction that education is a basic human right. Every child wherever he or she may be has a right to learn. We believe that education is a sound investment that transforms lives and builds better communities.
Haiti’s education system faces an array of challenges that have only been exacerbated by extreme poverty and natural threats such as the 2010 earthquake and most recently; the 2016 Hurricane Matthew.
” Additional years of schooling will boost a nation’s GDP. If every adult completed a secondary education, world poverty would be cut by more than half, according to UNESCO.”
As we embark on a new school year. Thanks to each of you for sharing our belief that education is crucial. There is a lot more work to be done. Please share the tCHF mission and vision with your colleagues, friends and family. Despite the gains, a remarkable number of Haitian children and adolescents are still out of school, missing out on the education they need to reach their full potential. Let’s get kids back to school! Your contribution and support are worthwhile!
Just think about this for a moment; every day, many children go to school on an empty stomach, which makes it hard to focus on their class work. Getting lunch on a daily basis ensures for overall health, as well as success in education. The parents are thankful when we can provide such help.
In order to sustain this essential program, we need continued assistance from individuals and corporate partners alike. Please consider helping us in this area, you will be investing in the growth of a child and the future of a community. It is easy; just click on donate on our website and give for that purpose. We are looking forward to your partnership.
#GivingTuesday is a global giving movement that has been built by individuals, families, organizations, businesses and communities in all 50 states and in countries around the world. This year, #GivingTuesday will be held on November 28, 2017. #GivingTuesday harnesses the collective power of a unique blend of partners to transform how people think about, talk about and participate in the giving season. It inspires people to take collective action to improve their communities, give back in better, smarter ways to the charities and causes they believe in, and help create a better world.
#GivingTuesday demonstrates how every act of generosity counts, and that they mean even more when we give together.
Please help tCHF bring much needed education, nutrition to the children in Haiti this year. Thank you!
the tCHF back-to-school luncheon was a great success last Sunday at Monmouth Worship Center in Marlboro, NJ. Many people joined us to hear reports about our programs and to learn about the effort in Haiti. In addition to great food and fellowship time – we also shared videos of our Digital literacy lab and heard testimonies from some of the children in the 7th, 8th and 9th grades on how the computer program is helping them with their studies and preparing them for the future. We are thankful to God.
The summer vacation has begun for the children we support. Like many other children they are looking forward to the fun days of summer ahead. The reality is that for the majority of them the poverty in Haiti gets in the way. Still, they remain hopeful that we (you) will continue to help them with their education and that they will be able to come back to school in the Fall. Our efforts to keep them in school continues.
They have worked hard to succeed in their studies and we are so proud of their accomplishments. Without you this is not possible.
As the end of the school year draws closer we are still in need of donors to help us meet our budget to pay for the services of teachers and, school management.
We are now accepting donations! We need your help to reach our goal, and any amount makes a difference. If you are a current supporter, thank you and if possible consider a one-time gift.
